What does that mean when you have a semi rare rune that’s worth less than 1 ist? Etc etc. Similarly … ultra rare GG items were worth far more than 40 SoJ … so they were exceedingly difficult to trade. There were semi useful items that were worth a fraction of a SoJ … that made them actually worth 0 since nobody was going to buy that item for 1 SoJ. But just like right now … most items were absolute junk. And the server had an abundance of duped SoJs.

A centralized currency is a big improvement over improvised currencies that players have used over the years. Why do people use JSP? It’s simply because it’s a far more convenient platform to conduct transactions on. But this is literally just like everything else in life! The rich kids will always have an advantage over the poor kids. You can hoard forum gold and start a new season with full endgame items in a few days. Sure, you can buy forum gold with real money. I have used jsp in the past but I have literally zero forum gold (lifetime trades less than 10).
